This faculty is aimed at students who are interested in the modern design in interiors and want to broaden their interests. It is also addressed to students for whom closed space is an area of creation. The applicants should have basic artistic skills. The objective of these studies is to educate interior designers who will have both solid knowledge and skills necessary for designing home, office and public interiors. Graduates will be able to deal with the art of exhibition and designing elements of furnishings. The program of these studies was prepared in cooperation with visual artists, architects and interior designers experienced at designing modern interiors and restoration of historical buildings. Professional preparation for the job of an interior designer is also guaranteed by the cooperation in creating the curriculum with experienced civil engineers, professors, university teachers of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and the Silesian University of Technology, prize-winning artists and architecture theoreticians. During the studies students are familiarized with issues of architectural composition, ergonomics, psychology of the color, designing spatial forms, art of exhibition, art of decoration, fittings, arranging greenery, design and complete interior designs.
